Community Rules

Our community rules play an important role in maintaining a positive experience for our users. Please follow these rules when using the lenslife mobile application. When we are notified or otherwise become aware of a potential rule violation, we may review and take action, including limiting or terminating a person's access to the app, or as otherwise specified in these rules.

We may modify these rules so please check back here from time to time. Also, when applying our rules, we may make exceptions based on artistic, educational, or documentary considerations, or when there are other substantial benefits to the public from not taking action.

Non-Permissive Uses of the lenslife App

  1. Ephemeral Messages - Peeks. Do not take screenshots of another person's Peek or ephemeral message. People who violate this rule may have images, selected at random, deleted from their Private Stream, as follows:

    • Except as described below, for each screenshot taken, one image from the offending person may be deleted;
    • The creator of the image that a screenshot was taken determines whether or not to punish the offending person;
    • Images will only be deleted from an offending person's Private Stream;
    • To determine which image will be deleted, the offending person will be presented with a collection of their Private images. The offending person will then tap the screen to slow the horizontal scroll, which action randomly selects an image to delete from the scroll;
    • The DELETED IMAGE WILL CEASE TO EXIST both in the offending person's Private Stream and in all recipients' Private Streams;
    • We believe in second chances, so every person is only ever warned the first time they screenshot capture a Peek message within the app;
    • The number of screenshots a person takes in each rolling seven day period is displayed below the person's name in other peoples' contacts lists; and
    • If a person takes 3 screenshots in any 7 day period, their profile icon will turn to an image of a skull. The image will also change in their friends' contacts lists and comments until the person completes 7 consecutive days without taking a screenshot.

    Like you, we want your favorite images to be kept safe – so when a friend sends you a cheeky Peek, don't cheat on them by taking a screenshot.
